Heres how something so ugly to many can be so beautiful to others. This car was submitted to me, and I found it to be simply beautiful in its natural patina.
Andrew Williams writes: There are alot of sites out there and you have a good one. I don't think I mentioned this cars first job. It was bought by a local cookie and snack company (jack's Cookies) as a delivery car for small and rural stores. When they sold it at auction. My uncle was a mechanic there and knew it was a good one so he bought it in 1974. Since I wrote you I got the brakes un stuck. It had almost new drums and all new steering parts and also a new exhaust system. One front brake was full of dog ticks I had to pour a little gas on them. I have some interior shots but since it was black and I took them on a cloudy day they didn't turn out well. I, like you, thought it looked good enough to save. It had been sitting there since I was a kid. I guess i am doing it for the love of the car since it was my uncles. After looking it over surprisingly the floor is not too rusty and the door corners are not too bad either. The front bumper is peeling and rusty. The worse problem is the cowl rust and a mustang cowl kit will fix that. The 2 front rims were rusted form a dog being tied near and whizzing on them often so I will have to get new ones. The front brakes are also locked up but I don't think it has any serious mechanical problems since my uncle was a mechanic and kept things up pretty well. Again thanks for your input, I am still thinking about leaving the paint as it is. It looks bad but it gets attention there is no surface rust and it looks to be holding up well. Just each wash takes a little more of the green/gold repaint off.

And another dirty old bird that spent nine years under a pear tree! Thanks, Rick!
Two before's, and an after.
3 cars submitted by Heath Grant. Heath says : These are a few Cars that I have found here in North-central Arkansas. I am going to fix the 63 comet wagon, as it looks much better dug out of the dirt. It has a lot of options for 63".
Heath, I couldn't agree more! The wagon is beautiful and appears very solid. Please let us know if you have any photo updates! The first photo shows the Comet sunk knee-deep in mud, but look how nice it is sitting ON the earth instead of IN the earth.
Random Junkyard pictures! I do not have locations or access to these cars. Many were taken years ago and are probably longer in existence. Please do not inquire about locations or availability of any cars seen below. Most were submitted by web surfers who had shots to share.
These were taken by me with my first digital camera ,somewhere around 2001, at 'Old Cars For Fun' in Indianapolis. Very low resolution, but still cool.
Thanks to Doug Arntson for all of the following pictures. Keep 'em comin'!
Thanks to 'pixel' for the following pix, taken at Curboys in Sturbridge MA, in 2006.
